I`m one of 17 birds rescued from a rough situation in January of 2025. My mom was elderly and ill. It had become too difficult for her to care for all of us properly. When mom went to the hospital, mom`s human daughter called Mickaboo for help.

My name is Bull and I`m a yellow-naped amazon estimated to be about 20 years old. I was flying around the house when volunteers arrived to make an initial assessment of our situation. I was allowed to go in and out of my cage whenever I wanted. I lived in the same house my whole life. My mom owned my bird parents, Ladybird and my bird dad (my bird dad passed away about 10 years ago). When I was put in a carrier by Mickaboo volunteers, I was curious and went to the front of my carrier to watch the new people. My mom`s greatest wish was that I find a home where I was well-cared for. Could that be with you? Stay tuned to hear more about me!

July 2025 Update from boarding facility - Bull has come out of his shell a bit, he`s a lot more talkative and loves his rope boing. He has a good appetite but will not eat chop at all, and he doesn`t really play with toys. He`s getting more comfortable with hands, but we don`t force anything on him. He`s a sweet bird we just let him do his own thing. When we go up to his cage and interact with him, he`s more engaged with us, he doesn`t give us that thousand-yard stare anymore. Overall, he`s doing great!
