Before coming to Mickaboo, life was a bit rough. My old home meant well, but I wasn`t getting the right food, my living space wasn`t great, and keeping clean wasn`t really a thing. Ferry and I were left inside our cages, we didn`t get fresh food and we had a pretty sad existence. We didn`t even have names; Ferry and I were named once we came to Mickaboo. When I arrived at Mickaboo, they took me straight to the vet to sort out some health issues (I had a high white blood cell count), and then I moved to an amazing foster home. My foster parents have given me so much space and time to just be myself, which I really appreciate.
I`ve discovered some things I love here! **Showers are the best** -- I love fluffing my feathers under the water. But full disclosure: I`m not big on being handled. My foster parents understand and respect that, which makes me feel really safe and comfortable. It`s been great getting to know them and settling into a life where I`m well cared for and can just relax.
I`m in my late twenties - early thirties (this is a guess based on everything Mickaboo has been told) - and things took a bit of a turn in June 2025 when I had a health event -- the vets are trying to figure out if it was a stroke or a seizure. It`s been a bit of a wobble, but I`m getting lots of attention and help from my avian vet and my foster family. They`re all working hard to understand what happened and how to best support me. I know everyone`s been sending good vibes, and I`ll keep you updated on my journey as I continue to recover.
