My name is Cocoa, and I am happy that I came to Mickaboo as I know they will help me find a super new place to live. I am a beautiful Yellow Nape Amazon that is on the quiet side, but nonetheless frequently chatterous. I rarely squawk, but sometimes whistle very loudly. I love climbing all over my cage and muttering to myself. I show no fear of, and some interest in, the dogs that also reside in my foster home. Sometimes I like to step up, but other times I just like to be left alone. I occasionally try to nip, but it is almost always a half-hearted attempt that says, "Leave me be." Once on your hand, I often like to move to the shoulder. If I had my say-so about it, I`d sit there forever! At this point I have shown no gender favoritism in regards to my human companions. So, you see, that makes me quite flexible in terms to whom I may be adopted to. At one time I muttered an obscenity over and over for a bit, but have not repeated it - so far. Beyond that, I have a great vocabulary, and good delivery - often saying situational things at the right time, as if on queue. I am on a premium seed diet, I like pasta and red sauce, of course, and a variety of fruits and veggies. So far, I have not shown any interest in pellets, but they are always available to me, and I am sometimes offered them as treats. I particularly like Harrison`s Lifetime Coarse.

July 2025 - Cocoa and Peppie are returning Mickaboo birds. Their mom is returning them with a heavy heart. She is a senior and is downsizing. She adopted them 16 years ago. They share a cage and are pretty easy going. They are on a good diet of Roudybush pellets with fresh vegetables and fruit. They enjoy watching and interacting with people.

Cocoa steps up on a stick and talks. He says "What are you doing?" when his mom is cleaning the house. He also says Hello, What`s Happening, and since he is very smart, he says random things that he only says once. He sings I left my Heart in San Francisco, saying the words.

Cocoa shares a cage with Peppie and they must be adopted together!
