Bird Toon of the Day - March 5, 2017
Since 2017 is not a leap year, I saved the February 29, 2016 WuMo and am presenting it today rather than wait until 2020. (Does anyone still use egg slicers like those anymore?)

The payoff to yesterday's Diamond Lil, from March 22, 2016. The look on Stupid The Bird's face in the third panel is priceless.
The first of a two-part Stupid the Bird quickie from Diamond Lil of last year. The setup is this strip from March 21 and the payoff will be tomorrow's post.
We go back to 1964 for this old Peanuts 'toon from March 8 of that year.
We start off a new month with this Speed Bump from last year. Personally, I think Dave Coverly might have seen too many "Goodfeathers" cartoons on the WB's Animaniacs back in the 1990s ...
And now that it's really February 28, here's our fifth 'toon for that date, from 2012. Gil is a "second" strip done by Norm Feuti, who also writes and draws a more successful one called Retail. The title character is a typical six-year-old who sometimes has moments of wonder:
The rare Monty strip with Pilsner the parrot, from one year ago today. Apparently he's expecting a NTSB investigation ...
The fourth of our five February 28 toons is Peanuts from 1965. (Note that I use the original publication date rather than the reprint datestamp.) Over the next five years, the blue birds would turn yellow and one would eventually take the name Woodstock; Snoopy, however, remains a beagle, as becomes far too obvious to him here.
More bizarre humor from WuMo of one year ago today:
Mutts from four years ago today needs no explanation ...
