We first tried foraging after our blue-crown conure started feather chewing. Our avian vet suggested we try foraging as a way to distract him from his tasty feathers.
Proper and adequate avian nutrition combined with good husbandry is probably the single most important factor in insuring that your pet bird lives a long and healthy life.
NOTE: Many birds will start eating healthier foods if they can see the food in full-spectrum lighting. Birds can actually see nutrition in their food, with proper lighting. In low light, they cannot even see in color.
