My name is Chewbacca and I am a five-year-old Senegal parrot. My friends and family call me Chewy. I am currently living with my foster family who have children. The family that owned me could not give me all the time and attention I needed so they felt I would be better off in a home with people who could provide more time for me. I am a very sweet and affectionate bird who just wants to spend time with people. I like being around children who are confident in their abilities to properly handle birds. I like to spend time hanging out on top of my cage and receiving head scratches. I also enjoy being held and sung to. I have been known to be nippy when I am scared or stuck in my cage for a long time. But my previous owner said that the more I am out of my cage and handled the happier I am. I enjoy a set routine and love to take showers in the sink every day. While I do not talk much I can say my name and I make a variety of vocalizations including a two tone train whistle. I know my step up command and that I am not allowed to sit on shoulders. I am currently eating pellets which I enjoy. When I am in my cage I love playing with my toys. My favorite is a small bell in my cage. I am a very sweet bird looking for a person or family who will love me and have time to play with me.
