Hello! My name is Cathy and I?m looking for a new home. My last owner left me at the SPCA because I was plucking my feathers and she didn?t have time for me anymore. Well, the nice people at Mickaboo picked me up right quick and took me to an avian vet, fearing that I had heavy metal poisoning. You see, us parakeets aren?t known to be pluckers. Good news is that they didn?t find any other sign of poisoning, though I still wasn?t feeling all that good. The veterinarian thought that my plucking was caused by poor diet and loneliness and boredom. Parakeets are happier when there are two of us together?or three?or four. Well, you get the picture Now I?m feeling much better, and am learning to eat healthier. I still like my seeds, and not so sure yet of these pellets, but I do eat my veggies. I am a shy girl but would really like to find a home with a big flight cage and a couple other parakeets to be my friends. I have a very pretty chirping and singing voice and have even been called soothing on occasion. So even though I am short a few feathers, if you think you may have the perfect home for me please contact my coordinator.
