Hi everybody, Jake here. I have some news to share with you. Recently my foster mom moved me to a new home. It was a long ride and I was a little worried at first?after all, I liked my foster mom and her home just fine. But there are some perks at my new home too: they have a great big stainless steel home for me and a very cool stand so I can hang out with them in the kitchen. Still, I was leery at first and I think they were too. It took a little time but now we really like each other and they are getting used to my loud voice. (l?m learning to tame my voice a little, which helps.) They don?t have any other big birds like me so I get a lot of attention and, in addition, they have great food at my new home: mango, apple, carrots, bananas, blueberries and lots more. Yum! Anyway, yesterday they took me to see a really nice doctor just to be sure I am on the right track and, while I can?t say it was fun (they poked and prodded me a lot!) they were very nice and said I am doing great. At the end of the visit the people from my new home said I was going to get to stay. Forever! How great is that! So that?s it for now. Time for more mango! __________ I am Jake (insert welcoming trumpet sounds here). I am a Mealy Amazon and I am simply HUGE! (Not to mention GORGEOUS!) I came to Mickaboo from a shelter because my last owner got too old to take proper care of me.

I am 15 years old, still youthful and ready to play. I really love to be out of my cage and just hang out on top. I also like to get a little sunshine (my current home has a small aviary outdoors). My favorite food in the whole world is APPLES. I love them. I cannot get enough of them. Yummy, yummy, yummy.

And I do have a SLIGHT issue...I choose not to like men so much. There is a man living in my current foster home and I just want to attack him. I also like to bark like a Rottweiler when I see him. That should keep him away.

My foster mom is wonderful though and I really like it when she preens my face and head. It feels so good. She jokes that if someone ever tried to rob the house when my foster dad is away, they are in BIG trouble when I see them. Well, as long as the robber is a man that is. My foster mom likes to put additional photos and maybe even some video of me on her website, check it out. Once you fall in love, contact my coordinator and demand that you meet ME!
