I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

Syd the umbrella cockatoo here- I'm the new kid on the block here at Mickaboo. I am said to be a male- but I've not been tested. Is that really important though? Nahhh? I don't think so. I have been with my current owner 8 of my nine years of life. They hate to do it but they need to find me a new home. There was something unusual about the place my family got me from- they fed their birds hand- feeding formula at night- even older birds! That's just downright strange! This is something my family still does, even though they knew they need to stop. The reason they don't stop is because I expect, and beg for it and scream if I don't get this formula. They said they can't take the screaming so they break down and give in to my tantrums. My coordinator believes this is encouraging hormonal type behavior. In the wild the only time a parrot gets warm mash type food is from their birdie mom and then their mate. I will have to be weaned off this asap! I should have only had it for a couple months when I was just a baby! My mom said my attitude changed towards her after the birth of her human child a few years ago. I still allow her to pet me thru the bars but not when I'm out of my cage. I prefer the man of the house. I have a good soul- I just need some 'tough love' when it comes to this nightly feeding thing though. Do you have patience to bring me back around to my jolly former self? My only other problem I have is that I really don't like hats- so if you're the baseball cap kind of person- please leave them off when I am around. Hey, everyone has their quirks right? What can I say? Ha ha. Please give me a chance and help me work through this food addiction thing I have. I can be a good bird again- really I can!
