I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

From Gracie's foster family: Gracie has been to the vet and had her beak and nails trimmed. The vet thinks we still have time to correct her malocclusion which is great news! She'll need maintenance trims for while though. She doesn't understand what happened to her beak. She keeps clicking it and moving it, trying to figure it out. She doesn't really know how to play with anything but her own nails and feathers. She keeps trying to trim her nails, even after the vet visit. It's just a habit now. So we worked on doing something different instead of chewing nails like eating a nut or getting a pet. Since Gracie is afraid of toys, it's going to take some time for her to warm up to things and learn how to play with toys to maintain her own beak. Gracie had her first experience with water today. I continually wet my hands while petting her and introduced her to a kitchen towel for drying. She was kind of OK with that. So it turns out that Miss Gracie is good at hiding her true emotions. She didn't pluck...she gnawed her feathers, underneath her wings. Hopefully with attention, and toys to play with and chew on, she will stop this behavior. She is so incredibly sweet, yet so scared. It is going to take time for this pretty girl to come out of her shell. We hope she will learn to trust us soon. She'll make a very good companion for someone.

I'd like to introduce myself- I am Miss Gracie- a 7 year old umbrella female cockatoo. I let everyone know my gender as I laid an egg for all to see! I've been with my last owner for three years now- I was given to him as a gift. Although he cares about me, he is not able to give me the time I would prefer and deserve. Parrots, especially cockatoos, are very social creatures did you know that? We don't like to be stuck in a cage all day- we like our freedom and to be out and about for several hours a day. My previous owner could only give me about 10 minutes a day out- he and I discussed it and agreed it was not enough. My diet was pretty decent- pellets, nuts and bird food, but I'd like to spice it up a bit with some more fresh stuff like fruits and vegetables- could you do that for me? It may take some patience on your part as I really tend to prefer my current diet right tow. I say, Hello! and I will step up for you- not bad right? Bedtime is 8 pm sharp and please cover me up at night- I like that security. I'm missing one toe- but I've not told anyone how that happened- maybe my 'parents' or a cage mate in the past- anyway it's not a biggie really. I'm pretty girl in full feather- no plucking here! As I am looking for a new home, and you just happen to be perusing the Mickaboo bird stories- won't you consider adopting me? I think I'd like that. Let me know and maybe we can meet up soon?
