Hi, I'm Brandon Lee the nanday conure. I'm about 14 years old and, as you can see in my photograph, I am a handsome bird in excellent feather. What you might not be able to see is that I am missing part of one foot, this from an infection when i was about a year old. That doesn't slow me down in the least, as I've had plenty of time to learn how to accommodate for it and can get around just fine.

I spent most of my life with a very nice woman who loved me and took good care of me. She recently had to give me up, which is how I come to be in foster care. My foster mom says that I'm doing well with her and that I love being around people in general. My original human companion said that I get along somewhat better with women than men, but so far my foster mom has not seen that. I'm on a great diet, I love being petted, and I am OK with being held in a towel for grooming or examination. My favorite playtime activities are supervised exploring out of my cage and shredding paper and fabric toys. I sometimes use my beak to help balance myself -- this is one of my techniques for compensating for my partial foot -- but I'm not likely to bite you hard enough to hurt you as long as you respect my boundaries. I do have the characteristic nanday voice, but as long as I know where you are or at least hear your voice, I am not likely to use it too much.

I'm looking for a home with a lot of human companionship and fun things to do, with people who will make a little extra effort as needed to accommodate any minor mobility problems that I may have because of my foot. I am a friendly and fun-loving bird and I hope to share these qualities with the right human family -- perhaps yours?
