Hello! I'm Pecky the pied cockatiel. I was found outdoors about five years ago and, since nobody claimed me, I was kept by my finders. They are a nice family and have treated me well, but they don't have as much time to spend with me anymore and I need to be moving on. The good news is that my finders have agreed to take care of me until Mickaboo can find me a forever home.

I'm a smart and handsome pied cockatiel. I will step onto your hand to visit but sometimes i will peck at yout fingers first, which is how I came to be called Pecky. I'm not a biter, mind you -- I just like testing that your hand is solid enough before i step onto it! I like sitting on shoulders or on tops of heads too, and I like to sing. Oh boy, do I like to sing! I get a little jealous when the people I live with talk on the telephone, so I do some of my best singing then. I sample fruit and veggies occasionally though I am rather particular about what I eat sometimes.

I would like to go to a forever home where I can get plenty of out-of-cage time, plenty of attention and plenty of opportunity to exercise my singing voice. I have not been around other cockatiels for a while so I may need some time to get used to them again. We cockatiels are sociable by nature, though -- you know what they say about birds of a feather -- so it's fairly safe to think that I will do well with another cockatiel or in a small flock. What's most important is that I go to a home where I can be somebody's best friend and they will be my best friend too. Some people think that we companion birds are challenging, but I can assure you that the friendship part is quite simple. Could you use another friend, one with a song to share?
