I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

Hello, my name is Verdi (pronounced VAIR-dee). I'm a 6 year-old cinnamon pied cockatiel who is named after a 19th century opera composer. I came to Mickaboo because my previous human family couldn't give me the love and attention that I crave.

I'm on a good diet, I love to sing and whistle and I love being around people. In the few weeks that I have been in foster care, I've learned to step up for my foster dad and I enjoy visiting with him. We play a game where I will whistle three notes, then wait for him to whistle the same notes back to me. Sometimes he changes the pattern to keep me on my toes but, then, sometimes I do the same to him so it's all in fun. I should mention that, in spite of my name I don't actually sing opera -- most people think that's a good thing!

I had a problem with excessive preening of my back which caused some skin irritation and rash, but I am getting over that with redirection training and daily mist baths or showers. The more time my foster dad spends with me, the less I overpreen myself. He says this means that I respond well to human interaction. The way I see it, I just like to party.

I would love to go to a home with a human who will be my best friend and spend a lot of time around me. Other cockatiels would be nice as well, but a loving human friend is most important to me right now.
