Hello, I'm Princess Alexandra of India but you can call me Alex for short. I came to Mickaboo a while ago, was adopted by a nice family and then came back when they could no longer keep me. This time I am ready to find a true forever home!
I'm a sweet, friendly girl in one-on-one situations with experienced handlers and I love stepping up and visiting with my human companion. My foster mom has taught me to use my quieter "inside voice" when I am around people, but I like to add my own sound effects like a wind-up whistle to keep things interesting. When I'm really excited I like to imitate a car alarm! My favorite creature comfort is taking long, luxurious baths in a dog dish (no dogs allowed!), since we couldn't find a birdie bath that was big enough to satisfy me.
I'm on a great diet that includes organic pellets, leafy greens and an occasional sunflower seed or Nutriberry that I have to work for. My foster mom calls this "foraging." She thinks of all kinds of places to hide my goodies and I have to search for them and unpackage them before I can actually eat them. That's OK with me - all that climbing around and poking my beak in things helps to satisfy my natural instincts and it keeps me busy.
I would like to go to a home that is fairly quiet and has no other birds. Like I mentioned earlier, I need an experienced and confident handler who can understand my body language and give me the right balance of control and TLC. I am equally comfortable around men and women. Of course, I will also need a queen sized bathtub and a good selection of foraging toys. In return for this I will be your best friend and give you years of love and companionship. I have been in foster care for 8 years now, so would you like to make friends with a Princess? Call Mickaboo and ask for Alex!
