My name is Tess and I am a very lucky little lady. Not only am I in a great Mickaboo foster home, but I even have my very own PeeWee Herman bicycle here!

My own big adventure started when I was found outdoors in San Mateo County by a kind woman who was on her way to work. I was glad to go with her because l like being with friendly people and, besides, it was too cold outside for me. I will take winter in my native Australia over summer on the Peninsula any day, thank you! My rescuer immediately called Mickaboo for me, and now I am being fostered by the director of the organization. Like I said, I am a lucky bird.

Mickaboo says that I am an adult, not too young or too old, but that's all they can tell about my age. Being a lady, I will give them no more information about that! They also say that I'm definitely a female based on my coloration and personality. I will be glad to agree with them on that point.

I am very sweet and friendly and, while I am somewhat interested in the other birds in my foster home I love to be around people the most. I love sitting on hands or laps and especially enjoy being petted on my head. My foster mom sometimes calls me Lady Chatterly because of the chatting sound I make when she is paying attention to me. I enjoy human companionship so much that I will even eat healthy people food if you will share it with me. I am learning to eat a formulated pelleted diet too, but so far my foster mom has not eaten any of that with me.

I like it very much here in foster care but will prefer going to a home where I can get lots of one-on-one attention. I don't ask for much: I just want a best friend who will share their lap (and their lunch!) with me and treat me like royalty once in a while. Will you be my best friend?
