Hi, I'm Linus and I'm proof you CAN judge a book by its cover. I look like a little fireball and I act like one, too. I have tons of energy and, if you give me a toy I like, I'll turn into a little blur of color as I play with it.

I had a pretty tough time before I came to Mickaboo, including a stretch where I was living in the back of a car. That's given me some fear issues, and I need an understanding human who's willing to help me with that. I also lost a couple of toes along the way, but I think that just adds to my overall character and general awesomeness.

I came to Mickaboo with a little lovebird named Abbie, who was my best friend. People who want lovebirds usually don't want conures, so Abbie went to her forever home last year. Sometimes I'll try our special call, just to see if she's come back, but I think she's too far away to hear me.

My foster dad says I'm real smart, but I just like doing all those tricks for the yummy treats. So far, I've learned "Step up", "turn around", "station", and "target". He's trying something called "big wings" now, but I just think he likes to jump around and flap his arms.

I'm happiest when I'm hanging out with my favorite human. I sit on a shoulder making little "conure purrs". Sometimes I'll snuggle and groom your hair if I really like you. I also love just hanging out on a perch next to my favorite people. I'll sit quietly and make cute little conure noises while I watch you.

One of my favorite things to do is to rip up paper. I can reduce an egg carton to chips in five minutes. My foster dad sometimes wraps my egg cartons in wax paper, just to slow me down. I LOVE getting foraging wrapped up in paper or cardboard. That'll keep me busy all morning.

Sometimes I'll just yell for the fun of it, but my dad is teaching me how to be quiet. I can get pretty loud at times, so if you don't like noise you might want to look at some of our nice pigeons and doves.

Every once in a while, I'll say things in human that my foster dad can't understand. I'm keeping that a secret for now, just to see if humans really are as smart as they say they are.

I've been a foster parrot a long time. I think it's cuz people always want Sun Conures and they don't understand that a Jenday is a kind of a Sun. Of course, I'm much better-looking than Suns, with my brilliant green wings. Who wants all those yellow splotches on your shoulders anyway?

I get along pretty well with other conures, but there's a big bird in my current flock that I really don't like. My dad calls him a "Pionus" -- I think that's human for "hawk". I'm a lot happier when that big guy is away from my cage.

I might be a little TOO exciting for some people, especially if I feel threatened by unfamiliar birds or humans. What I really need is a nice person who will give me the love and understanding I need. Could that be you?
