Hi! I'm Roberto a handsome Yellow Nape Amazon with big attitude. I am also a great ambassador for diversity - my ancestors came from the rainforest of South America, I have a Hispanic name, lived in multi-cultural San Francisco and speak and understand Cantonese. Go figure! According to the person who chauffeured me to my foster home I am probably a "jabber jaws". I know she was entertained during our long drive with my laughing, singing, clucking and making wide variety of jungle sounds. I'm in my new foster home sitting on a heated perch enjoying looking out the window and catching a few rays. I also hear other birds in this house although I can't see any because I'm in quarantine. There are a couple other amazons within hearing distance and I'm probably going to start communicating with these guys soon. I'm trying to figure out the food situation because in my last home I was fed pistachio nuts and sunflower seeds. I also lived for at least 22 years in a small cage and was not given any time out for exercise. I guess that's why in my big new cage I am afraid to move. As soon as I'm feeling confident, I'll probably start checking out new things and getting into the swing. In the meantime, why don't you think about starting a new life too - with me? Notice: Due to the sometimes difficult nature of amazons, Mickaboo prefers that amazons not be a households' first parrot.
