Hi, I'm Moe, a sweet little 4 1/2 year old Meyer's parrot whose latest owner did not understand how to take care of birds. She did a lot of things that really scared me and then thought it was my fault for not behaving like she thought I should. I'm so relieved to be at Mickaboo in a super wonderful foster home. I'm sure my new mom will understand me better and be able to tell you all about how wonderful I am. I'm a good eater and really want to be loved. She's also trying to snap a pic of me doing my cute little foot pose. Stay tuned! Update (9/29/10): Well, I'm back for an update and I'm doing just fine, thank you for asking! I figured there are some more things you should know about me: I am still absolutely adorable and handsome. I love hanging out on the sofa and watching my foster mom work and clean up after all the many surprises I leave her--I did not want it out in the public, but I have a thing for shredding paper and I'll even try to shred a t-shirt (if I can get my beak on it). My mom tells me it's not good for me and won't give me anything but bird safe shreddables, so I do my best to have a big time with these! My mom thinks I am a real sweetie, plus I'm super cute too. I love being around people and will try to follow you around the house. Sometimes my foster mom says my name Moe is short for mobile. What can I say? I've got to move around to keep this fine figure up! I also really like the vacuum and the hair dryer and make some major noise when either of these are running. This is about the only time when I really outdo myself making birdie noise. Other than that, I call when anyone is coming or going and sometimes when I can't see my mom. I know she is around and I want to keep an eye on her. I am a parrot after all, and I can be loud sometimes, but really I'm great when I know where you are. I am a very sweet bird, but sometimes I like to bluff and look sassy and tough. Once you earn my trust I'll let you scratch me all over and carry me around the house to my many bird spots. I have a bevy of cute noises...I do a great goose impression, a mean cobra, and I'll tell you to sh if you're noisy. I love protecting the computer screen and the towel rack but my mom just laughs at my menacing dance. I guess she knows I'm just bluffing since I can't resist stepping-up on her finger for a good head rub. Did I tell you I like to eat and drink? Oh yes, I am very healthy and will try just about anything. My favorite treat is a piece of grape, but I'll eat all kinds of vegetables and fruits, I'll slurp water straight off your finger, and I LOVE my pellets. Overall, I am just a most excellent silly little man. I am Moe! Print this page |
