Hello there folks. My name is Marti- my new name that is. My mama died and I was turned into a shelter. No one knows my real name so Mickaboo decided to name me Marti since I am from the town of Martinez. Luckily the shelter staff was observant to notice that I had a severe health issue and immediately took me to a vet. I have a prolapse so they stitched me right up. Then the shelter contacted Mickaboo and I was taken to a Mickaboo vet for further evaluation and treatment. I am still in the hospital now as this story is being written about me. I am an umbrella cockatoo, probably male, of unknown age. I mainly eat seed but I am being hand fed pellets. I am very shy but able to be handled. I have some minor plucking on my tummy but that?s about it. I have a long road to recovery but am on the mend now. Perhaps you might consider adopting me in the future or becoming a Mickaboo ?Angel? and donating towards my extensive veterinary bills? Keep me in you thoughts as I miss my mama and begin to heal both emotionally and physically. Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot.
