Hi, Yuki baby! That?s my favorite thing to say. I am a very gentle and affectionate female umbrella cockatoo of an unknown age. I was found, after having been tossed into the yard of a small apartment complex, like a piece of trash- in cold, drizzly winter of all times. Thank goodness someone found me and turned me into a local humane society. They took me in, loved me and cared for me for a couple months-even got me much needed surgery. After awhile though they contacted Mickaboo for additional help. My foster mom went to pick me up and decided I should be seen by a vet so took me straight to one of our cockatoo specialists. She did an emergency prolapsed surgery on me- the second one since I was found as a stray. I didn't feel well so I didn't want to eat. They had to gavage (tube) feed me so I wouldn?t starve. My sutures didn?t cooperate so I had to have an even more extensive surgery- half was done last week and I will be operated on the other side this week. But you know what? It is all worth it because as soon as I heal I have a forever home with a cage just for me It's at a small sanctuary type rescue specializing in special needs birds like myself. Aren't I one lucky cockatoo? I sure think so. My multiple surgeries are costing Mickaboo lots and lots of money. Won't you consider being an "angel" for me and sponsoring part of my vet care? If so you can let us know on our "angel" page or contact the cockatoo coordinator to let her know you'd like to help out. Thanks so much!

Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot. If you intend to house a cockatoo, please research the following websites:
