Hello- I'm a baby king pigeon named Little Jazzy and I was found as a helpless, sick stray at the corner of Leland & Bayshore, alone in the cold dark, on 10/28. I was ever so scared and the warmth and food and relative security of the shelter was a big improvement but I was still alone and sick and heartbroken. My good fortune continued in that MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue made room to take me in (because I was sick and would die otherwise) even though they were already full. (Unfortunately they almost always are. Adopt!) That was a little better still because I started getting medicine which was yucky but I started feeling better and I had a nice heat lamp and I could hear other pigeons cooing so things were definitely getting better. Then I got REALLY lucky because a MickaCoo volunteer agreed to sponsor AND foster me (meaning pay my vet bill and care for me until I find my forever home). I am an extremely lucky bird. I'd make a good indoor pet as I've not lived in an aviary and would adjust to a nice, big cage easily. I'd need a friend or two, of course, but pigeons are quiet and easy-going and easy to care for. Thank you for reading my story. You can find out more about king pigeons as pets at www.RescueReport.org Print this page |
