Hi my name is Pancho. I am a Harlequin Macaw. I am one of the unique macaws that Mickaboo has. My mom was Blue and Gold Macaw and my dad was a Green-Winged Macaw. My owner recently surrendered me to Mickaboo with my cockatoo buddy named Palomo. For the last year of my life I was living outside in not so good conditions. I was fed cookies and peanuts and never handled. A nice lady came to rescue us and took us to our foster homes. I am no longer with Palomo but I sure do love my foster parents. They took me to the vet and I got a clean bill of health. That is pretty amazing for a bird that lived outside so long. I have been a sheltered bird so I don't talk much but I do scream out "Robert" every now and then. My foster parents laugh because they don't know who Robert is. I also say "hello" and I love to give kisses. I can make the same kissing sound that you can. I have been told that it is adorable. Nobody really knows how old I am or if I am a male or female but does that really matter? I am full of love and that is what counts. If you would like to know more about me, please contact my coordinator. Update 8/13/09 Pancho continues to make great progress. He loves to step up on an arm and will lift up his foot when he is ready. Every time you give him something he likes or you do what he wants, he makes the kissing sound. He also continues to grow feathers back. He is a very sweet bird. Update 2/3/11 It's official. Pancho is a female. She has laid an egg! Print this page |
