Though my recent past is not so good, as I ended up in a shelter with King, my scarlet macaw buddy, I am now happy as can be! My name used to be "Baby" but I'm no baby so my foster family renamed me 'Georgi'. People think I'm a girl but it's not for sure so Georgi can ether be a nickname for George or Georgianne right? I am a very sweet loving bird even with children. I love to snuggle but I also am happy just to be in my cage next to a person. Although I seem a bit subdued much of the time (I just don't feel very well right now as I have a respiratory infection) I have still given a few of the wonderful crazy Umbrella Cockatoo displays. I love to bounce on your hand and really light up and sing. I do an occasional "where are you" cry, but it is very soft for an umbrella cockatoo - I promise. In fact my vocalization is soft and quiet for an umbrella - possible secondary to my respiratory infection. I am eating well. I seem to prefer one type of pellet over the other but will eat two different kinds. I have eaten at least a little of nearly every fruit and veggie I have been offered. I will step up for both foster Mom & Dad, but will hesitate at first. Once up though, I am happy as a clam. I have been playing with my toys and a soft "tunnel" which I like to sit and sleep on. I have a lot of new feathers coming in, but my old feathers are in poor condition. Given time I should be fully feathered and beautiful again. I'd love to find a permanent home - do you like cockatoos? I'm available! Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot.
