UPDATE 5/26/09: After several weeks of do-diligence by his avian vet, Morrissey's beak is now fixed and he is picture perfect! No more beak trims! Howdy! My name is Morrissey the cockatiel. I was rescued by Mickaboo after a short time living around snakes and lizards at a reptile store (eegads!). Mickaboo rescued me, and needless to say I'm happy to be only around other cockatiels now...phew! I'm a sweet, tiny bird (I weigh only 71 grams) and I love to sing and whistle into my mirror. However, my whistle sounds a little different than most cockatiels because I have something called a beak malocclusion, so I'm a special needs bird. I'll be fine; I just need a loving new adoptive family to take me to the vet every 4-5 weeks to have it trimmed so that I can eat my food OK. Other than that, I love being around other cockatiels and I love morning showers. My foster mom set up a special perch in her shower for me so we bathe together every day, and I really get into it. I also like trying new foods, especially dark leafy greens. I can step up and I enjoy sitting on your knee for a short time (though I'm still working on how good it feels to sit on a warm comfy person). I would enjoy being in a home where I can be with other cockatiels and a human that will give me lots of showers, good food, and out time. Please make room in your heart for my funny face and beautiful song. Please call Mickaboo. Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
