I've been happily adopted, but check below for a list of other sweet birds who need a home!

Hi there! My name used to be DeeDee but I just convinced them to change it to Mr. D. (More on that in a second.) I was found outdoors in South San Francisco, all alone, very hungry, and a little bit scared. I managed to find my way to a very nice woman's front lawn and she took me in and called Mickaboo. They came to get me in a flash and, after some quarantine time and a clean bill of health, I'm all settled into my foster home.

For a while, my foster dad and others thought I was a female because I didn't sing and didn't vocalize much in general. To be honest with you, that's just because I was a bit shy at first. Now that I feel more comfortable around people I have begun chirping more and have even begun singing like a male bird. This is how my name came to be Mr. D! My foster dad says that I am doing well, and I have to agree with him. I enjoy being around the other cockatiels here and, while I am not bossy I do like to stand up for myself in the flock. I am eating well and gaining my weight back. I spend some social time with my foster dad every day and he is making sure I know how to interact the right way with people. I have got the step-up and step-down routine down pat!

I would like to go to a home with other cockatiels for me to spend time with and also with nice friendly people who will keep me well fed and safe. If you're interested, send an email to Mickaboo's cockatiel coordinator and don't forget to ask for the big D!

Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted.
