I was turned in to a shelter as a stray, so Mickaboo doesn't know my hatch date - but experienced parrot people say I am a young bird. I have had blood work, and chlamydia and Pacheco's tests - and I'm healthy! I have a great time playing quietly with toys by myself (I especially like to chew up wood toys). I have not been a screamer at all in my foster home - instead I chat softly, sometimes vocalizing great exitement, but not screaming. Basically, I am a fun guy to have around. I am now eating pellets and some produce. I was not feeling very trusting when I came into foster care, but I am now putting my head down for my foster mom to stroke and skritch, and even let her kiss my bent head. I will probably learn to "step up" - just not yet. I am very clear in my body language when I'm getting nervous or have had enough interaction. I will probably do well with humans who give me lots of love and respect, a big cage, abundant toys, healthy food, out of cage time, and take time to win my trust and respect - I will more than reward that effort! Notice: Due to the sometimes difficult nature of amazons, Mickaboo prefers that amazons not be a households' first parrot.
