Don’t breed, don’t buy... adopt a rescued bird!
Many have forgotten this truth, but you must not forget it.
You remain responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.
-Antoine de Saint Exupery
Featured bird: Coco
Hi! I'm the new bird on the block! I landed in my last home by accident and sheer luck. I was a stray and somehow lost my long tail feathers and was grounded near a freeway when along came some nice folk who said "Wow, what is a Blue & Gold macaw doing
sitting on that pile of dirt?" It was me - wings and landing gear in tact but rudder missing. I have been seen by an avian vet and I am good to go. The other good news is I am friendly, interactive, chatty (including some "potty mouth" words), and know how to step up. With or without

Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue will host a Foraging Seminar featuring
Brian Speer, DVM, DAVBP-Av, ECAMS.
Dr. Speer's presentation is designed to help parrot guardians focus on how
to keep their feathered companions busy by foraging for food. Foraging
opportunities often help redirect negative behavior in parrots. Come and
learn more about how parrots think and behave, and how you can be a better
parrot guardian.

Mickaboo tries to respond to all requests for help, but those requests are
exceeding our financial and foster home resources. We currently have over
200 birds in foster care and our monthly vet bills in the first quarter of
2008 averaged $10,000. As a result, we need to consider intake requests on
a case by case basis.
If you would like to make a donation to help with these expenses, you may do so here via Network for Good, or by sending a check to
P.O. Box 697, San Jose, CA 95106-0697
.
If you have a healthy, socialized bird that needs a new home, please read our tips on Finding Your Bird a New Home.
Thank you for visiting our site. We hope you'll support us in helping these amazingly special birds.
