How you can help
Bird portraits
Debra Knodel, a Mickaboo adopter and supporter, has also worked as an
illustrator and graphic artist for many years and has a Scientific
Illustration certificate from the University of Washington. Send one or two
clear, large-format photos of your bird to portrait@mickaboo.org and Debra
will send you an 8x10 framed portrait. (Please allow four weeks for
completion). Mickaboo will receive 50% of the $150 portrait fee (which
includes shipping and handling). If you aren't a digital camera user, send
hard copy photographs to Mickaboo at * P.O. Box 697, San Jose, CA 95106-0697
Mickaboo is experiencing a steady increase in the amount of birds brought to us for placement. As a 100% volunteer organization we rely on our volunteers to transport, house and care for the birds until homes can be found. Though based in Pacifica, we have volunteers all over Northern California, and some in Southern California. At this time we cannot expand our operations out of the state of CA, but please read on for more ways you can help if you are out of state.
Your donation really helps — become a Mickaboo supporter!
Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)3 status. We spend on average $5,000 a month on vet care for our special birds. We are not government funded in any way we work solely on private donations and adoption fees, and Mickaboo is staffed entirely by volunteers. If you would like to help us with our cause by donating money we would greatly appreciate it. Your donation goes directly to providing medical care for our needy rescue birds.

Funds for Feathers!
Is your bird molting? We know of an artist who will pay us for "almost perfect" molted feathers (any size). The feathers should be carefully checked for wear and tear, placed in a plastic bag or envelope and mailed to
P.O. Box 697, San Jose, CA 95106-0697
. We will send them to the artist!
