Hi, I`m Manuelita, known affectionately as Lita. I am a very social and happy finger-trained little girl who came to Mickaboo in February 2021 due to family allergies. I chirp some pretty cute little exchanges with the other budgies in the house, and I desperately want to be with a female I can really bond with. My foster mom says my personality and independence flourish. The other budgie girls in the house hang out with me in a big flight cage for extended periods of time during the day, but I`m not bonded with any of them, which I would love. I would do very well in a home with another healthy female. I am ~2 years old so I have lots of energy. I am very sweet and don`t bite my foster parents when being held. I enjoy taking baths.

I am thriving on Nutri-An cakes. I eat 1½ squares crumbled up in my dish in the morning and 1 cake in the afternoon. I`m not too keen to eat veggies and fruit even though my prior owner said I loved them!

Because I came to Mickaboo with very inflamed nasal passages, I require a sterile saline spray 2x a day and 15 ml iodine (per 4c water) in my daily water per the vet in order to have the healthiest life possible.

Could you please find it in your heart to take me to your forever home?

In nature, parakeets (budgerigars) live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single parakeet to a household if there is already at least one parakeet living there. Otherwise, parakeets must be adopted in groups of two or more.
