Hello! My name is Porthos, after the 3 Musketeers. My buddies and I were adopted years ago, but my kind adopter couldn`t take me with her when she moved to an apartment. I`m around 15 years old and bald on the back of my head, but that`s kind of cute, don`t you think? Sometimes I`m a little grumpy, but mostly I`m a kind soul. I love being scratched on my head by really anybody - I don`t pick favorites. If you have a big family, I`m ok with that. I am not a picky eater, and I get along just fine with other cockatiels, if your feathered friend needs a buddy. I`m a great nighttime companion, because I`m so quiet. And don`t let my age deter you - I don`t have any special needs, but I would like soft perches for my feet. I`m a good little bird and would love a new forever home.
In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
